Our Goals

Webelos is a 20 month program for 4th and 5th grade children to prepare to join a Scout troop while learning outdoor skills and participating in up to 20 different activity badges. A well-run group of Webelos is a gradual change from being an 'adult-run' den to being a 'Boy/Girl-run' patrol ready to fit right into an adventurous scouting troop. This migration requires the parents and den leaders to give the scouts more and more control, decision-making power, and responsibility as they progress in skills, abilities, and maturity.

Summary

The Webelos program has two major milestones - the Webelos rank badge to be earned at the 4th grade level and the Arrow of Light to be earned at the 5th grade. The final part of Webelos is bridging over into a Scout troop selected individually by the scout.

Uniforms

A field uniform (formerly known as “Class A”) is required at den and pack meetings.

Required:

Shirt—The official tan uniform shirt is available with long or short sleeves and has button-flap pockets. This is the same shirt for Troop Scouts.
Neckerchief—Webelos plaid triangular neckerchief with Webelos logo.
Neckerchief slide—Official gold-tone metal slide with Webelos emblem. Cub Scouts may wear handmade neckerchief slides.
Belt—Official navy-blue web belt with metal buckle or the green web belt with BSA buckle.
- - Tip: If you get a green Scouts BSA belt for your tan uniform, you will not be able to display any Cub Scout belt loops. The belt widths are different and the loops will not fit.

- - NOTE: Each den will select their own patrol patch during a den meeting.

Activity Shirt (formerly known as "Class B")

Optional:

Bottoms — The official green shorts, long pants, skorts, and roll up pants.
Socks—Official green socks are available in three lengths: ankle, crew, and knee.
Webelos Colors- The Webelos Colors is an optional uniform piece that is worn on the right sleeve to display the Webelos Adventure Pins that have been earned. If the Webelos Colors are not used, Webelos Adventure Pins may be worn on the Webelos hat.
Hat—Official green hat with Webelos plaid front and Webelos emblem.
