The Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts of America) provides the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be “Prepared. For Life.®” The Scouting organization is composed of more than 2.1 million youth members between the ages of 5 and 21 and nearly 1 million adult volunteers in local councils throughout the United States and its territories.
Scouting provides unique, life-changing experiences youth can’t get anywhere else.
The mission of the Scouts BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
The Scouts BSA will prepare every eligible youth in America to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
